DIAGNOSIS

Clinical assessment of movement, muscle power and sensation often gives a good indication of the type of nerve injury, entrapment or tumour.

Neurophysiological investigation reveals deficits in nerve muscle and sensory functions and can indicate severity and location of a lesion, and if recovery is occurring.

MRI scanning is used to get further information about the nerve lesion or nature of tumours
